The 1987 Canada Cup was one of the greatest international hockey tournaments ever, featuring a legendary showdown between Canada and the Soviet Union in a best-of-three final. With Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux leading the way, Canada battled back after losing Game 1 (6-5 OT) to win Game 2 (6-5 2OT) in a thrilling double-overtime classic. The decisive Game 3 ended 6-5, with Lemieux scoring the tournament-winning goal on a perfect pass from Gretzky in the dying minutes. Gretzky was named MVP with 21 points, while Lemieux led with 11 goals, cementing the tournament as one of the most electrifying in hockey history. 🏒
